Hello All,
We are at Hinckley Yacht Services by Thunderbolt outside of Savannah. Had a
problem with the anchor windlass - the chain separator below the gypsy broke
- actually it broke the aluminum casting it was mounted to.
Vetus shipped me a new windlass under warrantee and it arrived here Friday
via 2 day UPS. I have the new windlass mounted but need a short piece of #6
AGW cable to finish the connection - the new windlass has a slightly
different electrical connection - Hinckley will swage the connectors on a
cable for me Monday morning.
YMMV but Vetus has been very responsive to my problem and I am very happy
with their service.
We will probably hang around here for one or two more days - got in some
wonderful sightseeing in Savannah over the weekend. Then continue our slow
journey north.
