    Several listees wrote offline about the tare weight being stamped on the side
    of the tank. They were correct and mine showed 17 lbs. Since the bathroom
    scale indicated a weight of 26 lbs I concluded it was about 1/2 full. A
    boiling water-on-the outside-of-the-tank test also showed slightly less than
    1/2 full. The final proof developed at the filling station when I gave the
    gas jockey the tank to fill. As he hefted it he said, "This tank is already
    1/2 full; you must be planning to do a hell of a lot of barbecuing." Bob
