I have a similar situation with incompatible threads that I still don't have
a solution to. In my case it is the thread of the gate valve from the top
and bottom of the fuel tanks where the sight tube is attached to. I tried
to use a standard 1/2" FNPT barb adapter but it does not fit. The thread
will go for about a turn, and then gets stuck becaue the pitch is different.
I am guessing this is a metric thread since it is still the original gate
valve that came from Taiwan. Anyone knows where I can get a metric
equivalent of a 1/2" FNPT barb adapter? Preferably in brass.
