Well the CRMC rejected the 4 acre land/water grab by Champlins last
night. There is an obvious impact on the environment, intrusion into the
navigation channels and into the city's mooring field. Champlins lawyer
interestingly was asked whether a compromise of 100 feet would stop them
from going to an appeal - he said in effect "no way". So they are, it
would appear, after the 200 feet and the 169 extra slips which just
about doubles the size of the marina. The case will now go for appeal.

Subject: Champlains expansion
I am aware and am quite concerned...not only about them taking away
mooring space, but also the extra noise at night that will eminate from
there.
It's bad enough when drunks yell and scream as they meander thru the
anchorage looking for their boat at 2 am...now it will be that much
worse.
That's not to mention how much longer we may have to wait for the
pumpout boat while anchored in the harbor.
We'll have to wait and see what happens.
