I've installed several of the Victrons and they have been great. Do wish
that they would have a control panel like the Link 2000. As it is now
programing
has to be done at the unit with dip switches or with a computer. When my
Heart goes TU I'll install a Victron on Rollsdoc.
There is a control panel and data readout.
A physical repeater panel of the alarm Led plus control switch plus it
has a power sharing adjustable knob.
You can also download a virtual version for free from
www.victronenergy.com
Its called VE config(ure)! Vesion 2 and can be run in simulator mode
for those who do not yet have a Victron inverter.
Victron also makes a Link type DC battery monitor called BVM501 which is
almost identical to the Link 10 In addition there is a Virtual network
that allows you to monitor the Victron component system from your PC or
laptop.
All the new Victron Phoenix models are now Plus, meaning they can boost
the shore or genset power as described by Maurice. In addition there is
a "virtual relay" inside the inverter which can be programmed to serve
as genset start, or alarm control or to actuate some external equipment
when a specified set of parameters are present.
Technically this is better than the Heart model. Oh yeah, it also has
an echo charger output.
They just don't really advertise it.
