T&T: Hinge a Trawler Mast

My Hatteras has a big stainless hinge at the mast to roof connection. This
permits the mast to be entirely dropped forward to the salon roof level but
requires a support on the roof because the hinge will be otherwise stressed.
This also requires sufficient slack in electric wires from the roof the mast
bottom which will allow the mast to be dropped.

A mid mast level hinge is more complicated because it must somehow be locked
rigidly in place or mast supports used both above and below the hinge level.
    Otherwise unwanted folding will occur.
