T&T: Hinge a Trawler Mast

    I also have the same dilemma and will be following this thread and your
    solution intently.

    The other question I have is....can I raise/lower the
    entire mast on my
    40 Albin by myself with the first mate's help, without the
    aide of any
    additional rigging? What do these things weigh?
    Remember I just
    bought this boat so I really have no clue..

    I'm new to this site and would like to know if anyone
    knows of a
    hinge that can be installed in a mast. I have a 44 Marine Trader
    Europa. The mast with radar on top is 20'5" above the water, would
    like to
    hinge it so I can hopefully get under 15'. Would like to travel
    anywhere on
    the Great Loop.
