    Greetings,
          I don't think you can improve the performance or the range of your
    "built in" WIFI card. You could purchase another card like the one shown in
    your link. The card (802.11b PC Card) in your description, slides into the
    little rectangular slot in the side of your laptop. There are other similar
    products out there, you just have to research out the best one. The built in
    card in your laptop just stays there.You just won't use it.
