Kerry -
See if you can contact Peggy Hall for tremendously valuable information.
Our system, installed by the previous owner, has been very trouble free.
When the system does not perform as expected (by holding vacuum for weeks at
a time), we have always found the problem to be either a small vacuum leak
or failure of a duck bill valve. Our system is a combination of schedule 40
PVC pipe, schedule 40 large radius PVC curves, and the low permeability
waste hose.
Try to minimize the length of the various hose runs, use wide radius bends
or gentle curves in hose, avoid low spots in the hose runs, etc. Mount the
vacuum (diaphragm) pump where it can be accessed to facilitate the changing
of the duck bill valves.
Hope that this helps.
