About 5 years ago I cut the transducer cable on a Garmin GPS / Depthfinder
unit to ease installation. I simply soldered the wires back together and
sealed with heat shrink tubing. The unit worked fine until about 3 months ago when
the depth finder function quit working, I opened the splice, the connections
appear to be ok, maybe the problem is inside the main unit.
