In my experience of chasing water in the bilges it seems to come from
forward and I suspect the anchor locker which drains into the bilge -
hawse pipe openings are the usual culprit and the more so if you use
wash down pumps. Doesn't amount to much. I stuff foam into the chain
openings to reduce the problem.
