This particular Malahide trawler has been listed at least 4 times and
maybe 5. It sold twice but seller lets buyer inspect before paying. I
have spoken to seller on phone and he seems a straight shooter but there
must be something really wrong with this vessel.

Quick estimate is that 50k would get that boat into your slip, but then
    what would you have?

This the first boat in a long time that got me salivating at first
    sight!
Reminds me very much of my first boat. It was also constructed of larch
planking over oak frames. My boat was 45 years old when I bought it, yet
the hull itself was pretty good.

Looking at the pictures it looks like someone got way behind on the wood
maintenance, which in turn started some rot in the above deck bulwark.
That $50K estimate is probably low unless you are willing to settle for
    a fisherman's finish.
Even so it will require lots of DIY effort and lots of "sweat equity"
    investment. VBG

    Oh if only . . . .

    Arild
