    Arild,
    I think you are being overly optimistic about the sulfating problem.
    A 4 volt difference in charging is over 10 percent of the overall
    voltage. In 12 volt terms this is equivalent to charging a 12 volt
    battery to about 12 volts instead of 13.2 volts, which should be
    obvious is nearly dead as a door nail.

    It is not clear if this is what the orginal poster had in mind, but
    unless we are missing something here, the 32 volt alternator charger
    is going to be of less than any use at all.
