Several years ago our sumbrella bimini and bridge cover were leaking like the proverbial sieve as they were over 12 years old. Wanted to get another couple of years out of them before invested in a full bridge enclosure. I sprayed them well with Thompson's Water Seal (clear wooden deck sealer) using a sprayer attached to a vacuum cleaner outlet until they were soaked. The material became more like a canvas in stiffness after this but never a leak again and the bimini never rattled in a high wind again due to its stiffness. Lasted 2 years and still use the old sumbrella as tarps to protect other equipment around home and still doing its job.
Cheers
