Looking for recommendation to re-water proof fly bridge Sunbrella bimini
canvas.
A light two coat spray of waterproofing on both the outside and inside is
what I have done in the past, but it seems water finds it's way past stitches
anyway...synthetic material and synthetic stitching doesn't seem as waterproof as
the old natural cotton based products...but is longer lasting.
I put a hardtop on my flybridge with soft side enclosures and that stopped
the overhead drips, but after 75 mph squalls there is still plenty of moisture
inside from nooks, crannies and zippers when rain blows in horizontally. In
strong winds, moisture can even drip in via the slotted channel used to fasten
fabric to the underside of the roof...which is inside an outer roof edge...in
storms and over winter, I just cover the seat and instruments with an inner
cover as well.
