T&T: Shaft Sump, Pump Out

    I have often used a wet & dry vacuum to clean and dry out bilges, maybe you
    could rig up a permanently fixed pipe from the lowest point of the sump to a
    convenient place to connect the vacuum, either temporarily or permanently.
    If the bucket of the vacuum is high enough it could be plumbed to a
    overboard discharge.
