There are a lot of these type of boats around. There are some folks who just
enjoy boat building and dreaming and are never suited to doing the voyage, or
health and family comes in the way at the end.
We built boats at place called "Multihull city" in the 70's and less than half
of these boats ever made a voyage after being completed--may 20 or so years in
the making. I have friends who have done the same. Built a boat with the
fantisy of voyaging--and could never pull off the reality. Unfortunately
often many of these type of boats are vastly over built--which tends to
degrade their performance--and I suspect that this might be the case here.
The other issue is that the plywood, although encapsulated in epoxy, has not
been glassed over--and if there is every a scrape, it can be an entrance for
marine borrers.
Such a shame that dreams are not fulfilled.
