We ran down the ICW today from Morehead to Wrightsville Beach--NAMASTE draws
about 5-5. We hit hard and then bounced across some more shallows at about
mm. 246 where the New River crosses the ICW. We were in the middle of the
channel at a bit less than 1/2 tide. Best water seemed to be on the right
side of the channel (headed south). A few other thin spots in the vicinity
of the crossing but no further grounding.
Later today we grounded hard and came to a stop at mm. 280, just off Howe
Point, again in mid-channel. We backed off and got over a bit more to stbd
and passed with no further problem.
I signed off the T&T list due to the high volume of emails so cannot post
this to that list--perhaps someone can do so?
Best--Michael Oritt
