T&T: as a seller

Would the couple people that are suggesting that Kevin needs a broker please
explain why he needs one if he already has a buyer? Does the broker accept
any legal responsibility, or is he/she just the person with all the forms?
Isn't a broker the same as a realtor? A middleman?

When I made my purchase last winter, I could have very easily done without the
broker other then he's the one that posted it on Yachtworld.com. He also
contacted and arranged the surveyor, and typed up a bill of sale. Other then
that, I had Boat/US documentation services complete the Documentation
paperwork which included a check for any outstanding liens just like a title
company would do for the sale of a house. In hind site, I should have had her
(BoatUS) pull the title prior to my handing over the check, but title was
clean and all came out just fine.

Seems like all you would need is a buy-sell agreement to start out and after
the survey and negotiations are done be able to type up a complete bill of
sale. Documentation services would be able to help you out with that or your
local Secretary of State (or who ever does water craft registration in your
state) if it's not a documented vessel.

If there's more to it then that, I'd be interested to know.
