It's not a complicated transaction -- or at least it
doesn't have to be. We purchased our boat directly
from the Owner (with no broker on either side). I
created a purchase agreement similar to a real estate
transaction, but much less complicated. A broker can
actually make the transaction more complicated.
Forget the broker -- just use common sense and protect
your investment via a purchase agreement and deposits
(and Attorney if the buyer gets squirrelly).
