In addition to height, the width of the load has some bearing on the route also. As an example, Illinois has a width limit on its tolls roads of 10ft which increases the mileage and time that it takes to truck a wide body boat anywhere.
This has an economic effect also since the time and distance increases. As said before the professional haulers know the way to get from point a to point b but it may be more costly than you would expect if you computed the distance driving.
