This morning my 120 v 65 amp 2 position + off shorted out while running or
Phasor gen set. The white wire that goes to the heart 2500 inverter charger
was charred and the switch was a little charred where it attached. I was only
running the gen set for 1, 16500 heater and the heart inverter charger. The
Phasor is new only a few months old and it has worked flawlessly. The
inverter is still inverting but I haven't tried charging. I have a couple of
questions. 1st, can I bypass the switch by attaching the black wire from
generator that now goes to the switch to my panel where the black wire from the
switch went? Then attach the white wire from the generator to my panel at the
neutral buss. Then attach the white wire from the inverter to the neutral buss
and the black wire from the inverter to the panel where the positive black
    goes?

Where can I get a two way + off switch to replace this one it was a 23 year
old switch that came with the old generator? West Marine says Blue Seas has
a two week waiting period and defender does not stock them. We are currently
headed down the Hudson and should be in Sandy Hook tomorrow.
