Keith, not sure what type of connector you need for the radio end of the
radio, but you could take a look at the XM antenna made by Garmin for their
XM Satellite weather/radio... has a standard BNC connector... I have one on
my boat and it works great... some bridges will knock the signal while
passing under them but only for a brief moment...

Subject: T&T: Marine XM radio antennas?
I had previously posted that my XM radio was working just fine with the
little patch antenna that came with it. Well, it just doesn't work that well
underway. Rolling, bridges, etc. interfere with it. I went out looking for
an external XM antenna for boats. Can't find on locally, so went to the web.
Purchased (or at least TRIED to) a Terk XM-5 from TWO different vendors who
claimed to have them in stock. After completing the sales transaction, BOTH
refunded my money saying they were out of stock nationally, and didn't know
when they'd get any more in stock. I keep finding this to be the case. I
can't tell if Terk is just not making them any longer or what. Anybody have
any information? I still need an external XM marine antenna (doesn't require
a metal ground plane under it). Any ideas?
Keith
