Georgs: Thanks for the link to the new article in Washington Post on Ursa
Major! I am only seeing it for the first time tonight online with your help
and heck you beat me to it!!! I am impressed by your vigilance.

Re "trip on Romsdal posting": My identity from Ron Rogers is correct, V.
Joyce Gauthier here, owner of Ursa Major, 65 foot Malahide....physician working
even at the moment moonlighting in Veterans Hospital ER to support vessel
(alas!). Absolutely NO intention of spamming or using TWL list for commericial
purposes...... just networking people owning trawlers destined for adventure to
people who might enjoy it. When Ursa has commericial offerings it will
be in the BST list, PROMISE.

I love these marvelous boats called Romsdals and Malahides and because of
this, my association with the owners of same continues to expand as we
investigate the history together and celebrate these boats. Mine, Ursa Major is a 65
foot Malahide and subject of the story in the Washington Post October 2 noted by
    Georgs.

The Romsdal headed South from San Diego belongs to a member of the Classic
Trawlers Network and is 65 feet, beautiful wooden hulled Romsdal named Seaquest
which is privately owned and home to friends. As a favor (and because I spend
so much time on TWL and on line) I realized that perhaps I could get
interested parties (do we call ourselves Trawler Heads?) linked together with the
owners who will shortly begin a journey to travel from San Diego to East Coast.
The owners only communicated that they would enjoy the company of compatible
people on most segments of this trip and asked if I knew of anyone willing to
travel on short notice and having somewhat flexible schedules. As you can
imagine anyone would appreciate someone to share diesel expenses and time at the
helm given a three fold increase in fuel costs and rigors of cruising. It
would be SUCH A SHAME to let the opporunity to do a cruise like this pass by
some of the wonderful gentleman and ladies who frequent this list. (I am pretty
good at networking for everyones' benefit). Disclaimer from writer.....NO
commerical interest in this at all PERIOD...... although if I can free my
schedule I may go on some segment of it). ERGO: I posted to broadcast opporunity
to those who dream and have time. I will forward any responses (and have had a
couple!) to the owners so they can find the people they will enjoy traveling
    with.

Happy to answer anyones' questions....my intentions are purely honorable.
Now back to work healing the sick this late night shift.

    V. Joyce Gauthier ()
