I just got a quote of $10,000 to convert two 3208's to naturals. It is fairly involved but in my mind it is well worth it if it is done correctly on the right engines with the right hours.

However, if you are doing this on engines with 2,500 hours it could be a waste! For instance, If you have 3208TA 375hp engines with 2,500 "Hard hours" on them where they were driven at 85% WOT then you are possibly close to needing a rebuild. On the other hand if you were to have 3208TA 375 HP engines that had "Easy hours" at low rpm's without the intermittent high speed running, you could have glazed cylinder walls.... also a waste. The only 2,500 hour candidate for de-tuning to naturals would be the engine with easy hours and proper intermittent high speed running (15 minutes every three running hours or so).

Not all 2,500 engines are equal. An engine that began its life as a natural is just getting broken in at 2,500 hours. But a turbo engine often is near the end of its expected life at 2,500 hours and de-tuning to natural at that late date might not get you the extra endurance you are hoping for. You have to choose carefully the engines you want to de-tune. I would de-tune low hour engines or properly run and maintained easy hour engines.
