The above article, about the loss of a 38 Ocean Alexander, appears in the
September/October issue of "Power Cruising" magazine. When traveling south
through the Tenn-Tom Waterway a couple of months ago in "Wilhelmina" which
had the previous name on the transom at that time, "Blue Chip", we passed a
vessel which hailed us. A man said he wanted to look at the boat as he had
lost one just like her in hurricane Ivan last year. This must have been Jim
Warren, the owner of "Walden Pond" and author of the article.
In the picture of his boat, one can see a davit on the port side, about
even with the back of the cabin, obviously used to lift the tender. I would
like to contact Mr. Warren and find where he got that davit. If any of you
know Jim Warren, I would appreciate his e-mail address, or you could give
him mine and ask him to cotact me. Also, you could contact me privately and
I'll give you my phone number to give to him.
