According to Alex multi-viscosity oils have gone through some major changes in
the last 20 years that make them as much or more suitable for diesel engines
than single viscosity oils.
I asked him because I could not find 20wt oil for my diesel. I have since gone
to 5W-20W and have been happy with it.
