Anyone aware of a different type of jellyfish proof screen on the thruhull?

I spent two summers aboard in Solomons Island, MD where Sea Nettles, as
jellyfish are called locally, can get pretty thick. Ultimately I bought a de-icer
and suspended it under the boat so that its wash was directed at the AC pump's
raw water intake--it worked very well though some periodic adjustment of the
tethers was necessary.
BTW it might be best to use a water hose to back-flush the intake line:
While air is compressible water is not.
