    Kevin, I have no experience with them being used as wreck buoys, but they
    are used extensively as junction and obstruction buoys, as per my earlier
    examples I discussed with Randy in the former case and as follows in the latter:
     Take a look at chart 18421, encompassing the San Juan Islands. in the
    middle of San Juan Channel at about 48 33 north, you will see a GR on Reid Rock.
    The light is a flashing green. Ditto off the west of Spieden Channel, marking
    Danger Shoal at about 123 11 west. Another is an RG west of Deception Pass
    marking Lawson Reef. I have been by these marks personally and suspect they are
    among those Marin references. We might be talking semantics here, but in each
     case these marks direct you around a danger.
