    There are a couple of them in your neck of the woods not ICW related that I
    am familiar with, Randy. They are day marks, not buoys, but the color scheme
    is the same. The most prominent being GR "C" when coming into Marco Island on
    Capri Pass. Take it as a green if you are going to Marco and south, take it
    as a red if going into Isles of Capri and the channel leading north. At the
    north end of that self same channel in Naples (thanks again for recommending
    it, by the way), is RG"G" take it as a green to go into Naples, take it as a
    red to go aground, no I mean go out Gordon Pass if you have a shallow draft
    boat...
    Peter, I have also seen them without the triple banding to indicate a
    "preferred " channel when only a small buoy was deployed.
