    Phil,

Have you considered getting a Bruce anchor? Was your anchor actually
dragging or did you just hear the rumble of the chain dragging over the
    rocks?

At times I swear we must be dragging anchor, but after checking the GPS
anchor watch, we, had only moved in a semi-circle around the anchor. But
the rumbling is very disconcerting. Putting your snubber on the chain will
eliminate a little of the rumble. We were just in a glorious little cove in
Simoom Sound and the whole bottom was rocky. There was not much wind and we
didn't move much but we listened to the grumbling of the chain moving over
the rocks for two days. It was worth it though,. We saw 2 bears.

We run Nobeltec and when we drop anchor I put a MARK on the spot. Then if
you zoom in until you see no more land and you have your tracking on you can
see just where the boat has been moving. I tracked for two days and the
marks went back and forth and in and out depending on the height of the tide
and the anchor was where it was supposed to be when we pulled it up.
