>what would a replacement for a Lehman 120 cost?
American Diesel sells a "drop-in" replacement for the Lehman 120. It is
(I believe) Ford of England's current and radically improved derivative
of the 1950s engine that was marinized by Lehman into the Lehman 120.
This engine develops more power than the old 120 but not so much more
that it would be inappropriate for a boat originally powered with a 120.
In fact, Bob Smith of American Marine told me they have supplied this
new engine as a replacement for a failed 120 in a twin application, so
the end result was an original 120 paired with this new engine.
I recall Bob telling me that the cost of the new engine was $12,000 but
I could be off on that. Of course there are installation, wiring, fuel
connection, transmission, etc. costs that have to be added to this.
