      snip
Does anyone know what's happening with this outfit? Neither my e-mails nor
      my phone calls are returned.

          + Placed an on-line order for a 5/16" Devil's Claw on July 10th
      ($100.10 w/shipping)
+ The order was acknowledged on-line the same day

      I can not speak to what is the matter re non response of the company;
    however I will share a word about a Devil's I purchased about a year ago. I
wanted to use it to attach the end of my snubber line to my chain.

If we are speaking about the same Devil's claw and not the longer ss version
that I see in the West Marine catalog, then my experience is that it does not
work well. It is fine when the rode is under tension but when the tension
comes off the Claw is quite likely to also come off. I used a Claw with the
appropriate chain size. I even tied a line around the upper of the Claw to
help prevent it from slipping off.

If you are using the Claw to simply hold the chain tight and not to connect
the snubber I think it would work OK. It is the tension cycling on/off that
seems to make the Claw not work. while the anchor is on board

It is quite possible that others have different experience but that's my
story and I'm sticking to it. I now use a rolling hitch on the chain to
    secure the stubber line.
