I installed the Shurflo potable water pump in the sailboat 2 years ago and
occasionally have the same problem that Pascal cites.
Aside from that, I like the fact that I can hear the Jabsco run (except when
underway), and somehow it's more comforting than the old standard Shurflo
which was pretty obnoxious. The new Shurflo could pump your tank dry and you'd
never know it.
The Jabsco is a great little pump, except for the obscene price of the
"universal pressure switch." I have a similar Jabsco bilge pump on both boats;
probably the only one that will "do" a 4' lift. Fortunately, those don't require
a pressure switch.
Unlike Pascal, I don't have a problem with the Shurflo fittings. Different,
but seem to be OK.

i installed one of these electornic Shurflo a little over a month ago, I'm
not really impressed.
it has failed to start at least half a dozen times... each time I had to
turn off the breaker and then back on, sometimes 2 or 3 times, to get it to
start. It also makes a buzzing sound right before starting and the pump it
self isn't exactly as silent as advertised. it also doesn't regulate as
smoothly as I thought it would... pressure may not vary as bad as a normal
pump with switch but it's not constant either.
i also don't like the fittings they use... fittings slides in, have 2
Orings but are held in place with a plastic clip... break the clip and
you're dead in the water (or dead without water). I wonder what happened to
a plain old threaded fitting...
