Here's an update. Best Marine Imports is alive & well.
I did receive a call this afternoon (which I missed) from the owner (?) on
his boat in South America. He assured me he'd shipped the Devils' claw last
week, but he'd have another over-nighted to us if necessary since we're
getting underway shortly.
Encouraged I returned to the marina mail room, and sure enough, it had
arrived late yesterday or at noon today. Nice looking piece of stainless, too.
Whew ... one less thing on the checklist ... and a good feeling for Best
Marine Imports.
Maine, here we come.

Does anyone know what's happening with this outfit? Neither my e-mails nor
my phone calls are returned.
+ Placed an on-line order for a 5/16" Devil's Claw on July 10th
($100.10 w/shipping)
+ The order was acknowledged on-line the same day
+ My credit card account was debited on July 22nd
+ No shipment received
+ No shipment tracking information received, and as mentioned, neither
phone call nor e-mails are acknowledged ... can't even reach someone at their
sales desk
