I have USAA car insurance. I always rent cars with an American Express
Gold card.
Fifteen years ago, my rental car (Avis) was severely damaged in an
accident. My sixteen year-old son, without my permission and without
being on the contract, rolled the thing over on the US Army tank test
track in Ft. Carson, CO ...don't even ask -- and you think you have
problems. It's funny now, but it sure wasn't then!
I called Avis, they brought out another vehicle and took the damaged
one back on a flat bed truck.
I never heard a word from Avis, USAA or American Express about the
incident -- and haven't to this day.
