Have installed the DA4000MR-30U in the last two weeks, it works with my LG
Verizon phone and the PC Card (Verizon CDMA 1xrt and EVDO) as well. I went
with this option after talking with DA about having this on a 33' pilothouse
boat. Used the 4' DA cell 9db antenna I have already installed. Installation
went well and according to their spec's the system has enough separation
between the outside and inside antenna.

It works and is very handy as you don't have to have patch antenna cables
for the phone and PC card. It works as a repeater so you get to use the cell
device without any cables attached. Used the phone and PC card together on
the repeater - no issue with multiple users. If memory serves, DA said 6
connections / calls at the same time were the limit of the system.

The PC card won't work from my marina without the DA equipment.

That said, the boost isn't as good as the DA4000 with a cable attached to
the device. I ran speed tests on the Internet (toast.net) with the PC card
on the DA4000 hardwire and the MR-30U. I got very repeatable results of 128K
with the DA4000. The results on the MR-30 weren't as good; perhaps only
reaching the 128K number 1 out of every 4 tries.

I used the MR-30U for downloads of email this 3 day weekend and didn't skip
a beat, although it took a little longer, I was patient about it. The cell
phone lost a few calls while chatting to people from the boat.

My thoughts are that I will keep both systems, re-cable to utilize the short
DA antenna included in the kit for the MR-30U and have the availability of
using the DA4000 amp for hardwired connections. It is getting harder to find
newer cell equipment that has an option for an external antenna patch cord.

Out of the box the AC adaptor was DOA. I use the 12volt brick - it seems to
be a quality unit. My thoughts only - the internal antenna seems to be of a
very cheap quality. Can't comment of cost, my employer takes care of the
cost to keep me connected 24 X 365.

Seems that the SBR unit needs the 40 foot of separation between external and
internal antennas. They are very adamant about have good separation, don't
know if the construction of your boat will support what they want. Your
mileage may differ. I was warned away from using this unit by DA because of
the size and being a boat, guess in retrospect I could have tried one of the
units, but DA has smart engineers and they haven't steered me wrong yet.

    Snip-
Has anyone had any experience with the PowerMax DA4000SBR wireless cell
phone booster. Will it work with my Verizon PC card? Will I have a
    problem with
antenna separation? I only have a DeFever 41. Where is a good price for
    one?
