All the Defever 49 RPH were built in one of two yards in Taiwan, and the
quality was consistant in those yards. When the production was moved to
mainland China, the quality diminished dramatically. For a time, 7 years
old 49s sold for more than the new ones. At this years boat shows, the
current models approach the old time quality. Now production has been moved
back to Taiwan and we will have to see if the quality is like the older
    boats.
There is a major difference between the really old (prior to 1985?) boats
which were built with glass covered plywood decks and cabins. Beware of the
    rot in those structures.
