T&T: Storage of small amounts of diesel

    I am a bit horrified at the thought of storing any
    amount of diesel in plastic containers in the engine
    room or bilge. If you have an engine room fire of any
    sort the heat will very quickly melt the plastic
    (especially a water container)and you have an
    additional source of fuel to add to the fire triangle.

    You don't need a lot of fuel to top up Racors etc and
    it should be kept in a proper container away from
    potential sources of heat.
