thks for the great info! good to have a cheaper source.... i also think the
problem with mine was an isolated incident.

now the vibration has me worried though... when standing next to the pump, you
don't feel a vibration? I do on mine even now with the rubber mounts i made.
I just took pieces of rubber hose, punched a hole on the top one to pass a
bolt thru, put another piece under the bolt head and screwed that thru onto a
starboard base. no direct metal path for the vibration to follow, yet I still
feel a vibration. it's not like it's shaking but even up in the salon, and
can feel when the pump starts...

      Subject: Cruisair a/c pumps

The point of my original post on this subject was the high price charged by
Cruisair for a pump that is obtainable thru Depco at several hundred dollars
less than what Cruisair charges for the identical pump, which is mfg'd by
Oberdorfer. In my case my replacement pump, an Oberdorfer 104M-01J26, 230v,
1320 gph with Monel shaft was $532.00 from Depco vs $730.00 quoted by Cruisair
dealer. The other astonishing thing was that Depco could ship the pump the
same day and Cruisair is telling us it takes up to two weeks to acquire one.
I guess it takes them that long to get the pump from Oberdorfer and place a
    Cruisair label on it?

I would assume that your original replacements motor failure was an isolated
incident, the "Cruisair" (Oberdorfer) pump I just replaced on Serendipity
appears to me to be the original installation which means it lasted a whopping
    24 years.

My pump also has no provision for isolation dampening, it is screwed down to
the plywood decking in my engine room, but it does not display any vibration
prolems that I am aware of.

By the way, the web site for Oberdorfer pumps is:
