Sailboats do have a problem in loading dinghies over
the transom because of the configuration. Some pull
the bow up onto the stern so that maybe a third is out
of the water, and this may be OK for short inshore
trips. The best method adopted by most experienced
yachties is to stow the dinghy on the foredeck where
it can be properly secured.
Many boaters tend to buy dinghies too big or heavy for
their vessel and then have problems getting them on
board in a blow.
