Just north of Lock 7, there is a hard, mid-channel shoal of less than 7.5
feet. With a gravelly crunch, Seahorse slid right over it and kept going. I
reported it in writing at the next lock. The project depth is 12 feet, but there
are many areas between Lock 7 and 8 where it is only 8 and 9.

It took me a few seconds to hit the "mark" button on the GPS; that makes it
about a hundred feet SSW of N43deg 16.04min.

    Regards,

    John
    "Seahorse"
