Since this thread remains alive and kicking, I thought I'd remind folks that
the Happy Hooker many of us have used is too bulky for use on a small boat's
bow eye. For that you need the karabiner type rig. But the larger Happy
Hooker is indeed excellent for passing a line through the bale on a mooring
buoy and doubling it back aboard.
