I have never heard
of a school specifically for powerboaters in the same sense that there
are schools for sailing.
Marin, great words of Fatherly advise, I think this future cruiser was from the midwest (Michigan ?). I fully understand his request, we went through the same process, at least we had the time under our belt to charter bareboats to determine what exactly our needs were. He also indicated he was willing to travel to attend a "trawler school" The May issue of Soundings had an article about such a school in FL, amongst others. He and anyone else interested should look into www.flsailandcruiseschool.com also www.colgateschools.com also www.seasenseboating.com . I also think that Blue Goose charters in Baltimore has a similar set up. A little digging and he can find what he's after...GEH
