TnT's
Sunday afternoon there came a knock on the door. The Parish Nuisance
Alligator Hunter , he lives right down the bayou from us, came to tell me
that he needed to shoot a large alligator from my boat.
The boat was in the slip at the back door of our home.
It took a while for him to get a good shot in as it was abt 75 to 85 yards
off the bow of my boat. Several boaters passed while he was waiting. The
gator either did not submerge or did so and then would come right back up in
the same place after the boats passed!! As the hunter said, " A gator that
size knows that he owns the bayou and is only scared of a bigger gator!"
After killing it, in order to get it into the bateau, he dragged it over to
my dock and then we pulled it into the boat.
I have posted some pictures on our web site. Click on pictures of CCRIDER
and go to page 3.
The alligator measured a little over 10 ft.. My son hunts them commercially
and the largest he has bagged was 11 ft.
