    >Big dock debate on sanding the CPES or not if Bristol applied within 24
    hours of original CPES coating.

We put on several coats of CPES before putting on finish coats of paint
or Bristol. We always finish-sand the piece after the CPES has cured--
the smoother the surface the paint or Bristol (or varnish) is going on,
the smoother the final finish will be. If you decide to practice the
concept of applying the first finish coat of Bristol (or varnish) before
the CPES has completely cured, you will obviously not want to be sanding
the CPES before putting on the first coat of your finish. I'm told it
takes two or three days-- depending on the climate-- for CPES to cure
completely even though it may feel dry and non-tacky to the touch before
    that.
