This solution is keeping with our 50' boat/20' boat budget. We have the
same type switch on the end of the dinghy winch motor. The switch itself
has tabs where your fingers apply pressure to turn it in either position.
It was simple and effective to drill a hole at the far end of each of the
tabs and secure the ends of one 1/4" line each through one drilled hole.
This leaves a loop (length of your choosing) from which you can work the
switch by pulling on one side or the other on the loop. Cost about a buck
to do and the remote will never get damaged from falling in the water.
