I would go with the 6 kw. 4 foot open array antenna.
Unless, you want to spend the extra money and can put the antenna at least
    20' feet above the water.
I don't think the 20 feet is in the cards for your boat.
If you can't afford the 6kw and 4 foot, then go for the 4 kw and 3.5 antenna.

There are several forces at work in this decision process. One should be
apparent. Your selections actually bracket the range of reasonable choices.
My pick is to go to the center and you can see the results. The choices
really boil down to practicalities. Buy less if you can't afford the middle
choice. Spend the extra money for the upper range choice if you really want
the added power and can put it high enough to get some real use. I would
not go over 40 feet up, in any event, you will lose small targets near you
if you do. If you like spending money: before I would go for the 12 kw and
6' array, I would buy a second radar. A 2 kw set with closed radome, or 4
kw. I like redundancy, even more than more power and bigger arrays.

    Does any of this help??
