In a message dated 12/30/2004 11:03:22 AM Eastern Standard Time,
     writes:
article assumed that everyone has a boat that is designed to get to the
    primary
(Racor ) filters most easily and therefore you would want to change those
filters in the seaway if your filter plugged. That's not the case on
    Chateau
as the primary Racor filters are buried where my Six foot Six inch body
will hardly fit, while the secondary Cat 2 micron spin on engine mounted
    filters
are easily accessible in my (almost) stand up engine room, and can be
changed in just a few minutes.
    ----------------------------------------------------------
The point is not that the RACORS are easier to change--it is that--assuming
they are duals--they can be changed without having to shut the engine down.
That said, I would not have a filter setup where I could not quickly change it,
whether in a seaway or at the dock.
