I have installed a KVH antenna and an Echostar DV3 receiver. I subscribe to
Dishnet, which spreads its significant programming over two satellites,
described as #'s 110 and 119. satellite.
As luck would have it, when we are at our home slip the KVH falls squarely in
the "shadow" of the mast in relation to the 110 satellite and I cannot get a
signal from it so I am considering getting a fixed antenna that I can mount on
the dock where it will be able to "see" both satellites.
Dishnet sells, I believe, a larger diameter fixed dish which can receive both
satellites, but I think this involves having a "checkswitch" on the receiver
that can quickly go back and forth between the two satellites. Can these be
added to the existing box or must I also purchase a new receiver?
